Checking dimensions, construction and draw brings together different tasks. Habanos documents an identification by roller, format and date that makes it possible to follow manufacture through to inspection.
Making a cigar by hand involves more tasks than rolling. Process controls make it possible to follow the cigar as it goes through preparation, construction, inspection and conditioning.
Habanos describes trays identified with the roller’s number, vitola de galera and date of manufacture. The inspection checks weight, dimensions, consistency and finish. It also explains a suction draw test applied to the bunch before the wrapper is put on.
The identification on a tray links the work to a roller and a date, while the checks examine the cigar from different aspects. The draw test is one of them; weight, size and finish provide others. In this way, factory control combines process information with observation of the construction.
