Booking, accordion and entubado describe ways of arranging the filler. The vocabulary makes it possible to study internal construction and to record the method each manufacturer reports.
The arrangement of the filler is one of the internal decisions of rolling. Although it does not always appear on a commercial sheet, its vocabulary helps in understanding factory explanations and demonstrations.
Cigar Aficionado distinguishes the booking method, which layers leaves on top of one another, the accordion method, which arranges them in folds, and entubado, which rolls each leaf into a small tube before the bunch is assembled. In its definition of entubar, the magazine links that arrangement to the creation of air passages.
The folds or tubes belong to the internal architecture of the bunch. A photograph of the wrapper does not allow them to be seen. To study these techniques, demonstrations that show the leaves before they are wrapped are especially useful: they make it possible to link the vocabulary with the working gesture it describes.
